Educational grants for students in need of financial assistance under the age of 25 who are long term residents of the City of Birmingham.
The educational grants are intended to help students with their educational expenses. Students in the past have received grants to help with living expenses, travel expenses, books, IT equipment and other items to help them complete their studies successfully.
The goal is to empower students to achieve their potential and contribute positively to their communities.
Eligibility for educational grants includes students aged 18 to 25, in full-time education and studying at a college of further or higher education. Applicants must demonstrate how the grant will support their educational objectives and contribute to their personal or institutional development. The selection process considers factors such as financial need, academic merit, and whether the applicant is a long-term resident of Birmingham.

Who can apply?
The Trust prioritises students with the greatest need, so providing detailed information in your application is crucial.
To be eligible, you must:
Be a long term resident of the City of Birmingham (usually for 3 years for reasons other than education) and must live within the boundaries of the City of Birmingham (proof of address required). Students who reside in Birmingham solely for their studies are not eligible.
Be under the age of 25 years at the start of the academic year to which the grant relates.
Be in full-time education
The charity does not provide grants for postgraduate study.
Applicants must demonstrate and provide evidence that they have applied for a Student Maintenance Loan and a Tuition Fee Loan from Student Finance England. They should also provide proof of having applied for any additional support available from their college or university.
The trustees are committed to supporting students despite reductions in government funding and work closely with local educational institutions.
